The Penderwicks is not your typical family. With one dad and four daughters to watch out for, things get off track and they decided to go vacation. The sisters go on many journeys and end up running in to snooty Ms. Tifton who has a son named Jeffery. She does not like him hanging out with the crazy sisters, but they all become friends anyway. What they don’t know is that their neighbor Ms. Tifton is very strict and takes the way her garden looks very seriously. Mrs. Tifton is getting ready to compete in a gardening club contest. But when the sisters come along, she finds them snooping in her garden. If the sisters keep going in her garden, Ms. Tifton is up for a battle. What will happen?
I really liked this book. It has a lot of adventure in it. I love how Jeanne Birdsall uses great descriptive words in the book. The way that she put this book together is very interesting. For example, Ms. Tifton does not know is the girls’ mom has died of cancer. When the girls make Ms. Tifton furious, she starts talking bad about their mother. These insults about their mother make the girls very mad. Her descriptive language makes the scene more vivid to the reader. The book really comes to life!
If you are a person who likes adventure in their books this is the book for you. I would rate this book to have 5 stars. YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!!!
