Hard times have hit a family very, very HARD. Mary Alice’s brother, Joey, has left home in search of a job. So there is not enough room for the family in their small apartment. Therefore, Mary Alice has to move in with her grandma. Mary Alice is not used to the country, only because she always lived in Chicago. Everyone calls her the city girl. Mary Alice will have to survive this lifestyle for a year. Do you think she will fit in? I like this book because you feel like you go on many adventures with grandma, and you want to see what sly plan she will do next. For example, grandma stole pecans from an old man’s tree and got away with it. Her grandma is a big woman and gets away with sneaky tricks.
The book makes you feel like you are in the story experiencing what is happening. I recommend this book to you! You will never be able to put this book down, I give this book 5 paws.
