The Grand Canyon

For six million years a large mountain like canyon was formed for a long time. The massive mountain like canyon was named The Grand Canyon.

Later on the canyon became one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon is made up of weathering and erosion. The Grand Canyon is located in the state of Arizona. Six million years ago the Colorado River made its way deeper and deeper in the canyon.

Weathering played a big part in making The Grand Canyon. Weathering is when things like wind, water, and ice breaks down the rock and forms sediment.

The Colorado River made its way down the canyon and it also weathered the Grand Canyon for six million years. Erosion also played a big part in forming The Grand Canyon. The Canyon was eroded by the Colorado River. Erosion is when sediment is carried away. Erosion is made up of wind, water and ice.

Erosion has been eroding The Grand Canyon for six million years. The Canyon was declared a national park by the 26th president Theodore Roosevelt in 1908. There are many things to do at the Grand Canyon like the canoe ride and the donkey ride to the bottom of the canyon. The Grand Canyon is becoming wider and deeper every day because of weathering and erosion. The Grand Canyon gets wider when the Colorado River freezes and makes the river wider and the canyon wider.
