Writing Rocks! Hits the Publishing World!
Our 4th and 5th grade writing club hit a new high yesterday as we
published our works on Smashwords. Most of the writing, revising,
editing, and basic formatting was done by none other than our amazing
kiddos! I'm so proud of them!

How to Create Your Own Blog!
Hello my Neipchens!
Mrs. Isaacs here, and I wanted to explain how to make your own blog. We can work on the blogs at school, but, unfortunately, the firewall won't let me create blogs, and so below you'll find step-by-step instructions on making your blog.
If you are still confused and need help, bring me your email address and password. I'll take it home, and create a default blog and then we can work on the design of it at school. If you create a blog at home, please make sure that you know your URL, email address, and password so you can get on it at school to change things around. I'm working on a scroll widget with all of your blogs, so we must have a grab button for everyone and all the blogs set up before summer starts! :-)
How to create your own blog:
Make a gmail email address.
Click on the "Create a Blog" button on the top right corner of this blog. There you will be taken to
a page that looks like this:
That will take you to a page that looks like this:

Playing with Images!
And so when I ran across this little jewel of a freebie I had to share! It's calledpixlr.com. It has similar features to Photoshop, and I'd love for the kiddo's to play! Now, you do have to sign up, which basically involves giving them your email and creating a password, but once that's taken care of you can create, layer, and put words on any picture you'd like. Too, some of the tools (such as the lasso, the wand, etc) are the same as Photoshop, so learn this first and when we get to that stage it'll be a breeze!
Now I'm learning this one with you, so I'm no expert. But if you have a questions feel free to post one and I'll see if I can't find the answer. As always, go play, have fun, be fearless, and learn something new!

Help Your Siblings!
By “siblings”, I don’t mean your little brother, your big
sister, or anything like that, I mean animals. Why am I calling animals our
brothers and sisters? Simply because they are. Humans and animals both have a
mother, Earth. So, we must help our brothers and sisters who are living in the
wild to survive. Animals are disappearing around the world, all because of
human actions. We the people must stop hurting our family. Since we are
destroying our family’s homes, we are also hurting Mother Earth. I have heard
of the spirit bear, a black bear with a fur coat white as snow. These bears are
very rare, and they live in the last rain forest in North America left. People
are planning to destroy the rainforest to put in oil pipelines instead, which
also means that the spirit bear will disappear. We must stop hurting our
brother and sister animals and our mother, Earth.

Fun Rides!
I went to Orlando Florida with my dad, my mom and my brother. Rides are like a roller coaster and you go to a seat that you want to sit and then the person that has control of the roller coaster has to make sure that the people is buckled in so people don’t fall off the ride. It was fun because my dad and I went to the small kid rides. My mom and my brother went to the big kid rides. Then we met together so we can get something to eat. Then we went back to ride some rides.
I like this trip is because we had fun and we ate food together. The part that I like is when my family had a good time. The ride that I like Orlando is a roller coaster that has chairs and you sit in them and then you go up a big hill. Then you will have to figure out the rest!
I didn’t like trip because the other people riding the rides were rude. They acted like they didn’t about anybody, and it just made me really mad. For example, this woman bumped into me, and she just walk on without even saying “excuse me” and “I’m sorry.”
I recommend this family trip 4 out of 5 paws, and I hope you like my report on my family trip. I hope you can do this sometime this summer with your family!!!!!!!

The Disney Dream!
Have you ever wanted to go to a place that has rides, a huge water park and so much more? Well there is a place and it is called Disney world. When I went there it was so awesome. We went everywhere, when you go there you should go on the Dumbo ride it is grand. When you go to Disney world, you feel like you get to spend more time with your family. You get to meet all of the Disney characters and get to feel like you are in a movie. You should definitely go. It is breathtaking.
I love Disney World because the rides were thrilling, the food was delicious, and the water park was amazing. For example, my favorite ride was the Dumbo ride. It felt like we were flying! Disney has the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. And we stayed for hours playing in the water park. The people that worked there were nice too. Everyone who works there has a smile on their face!
The thing I didn’t like was the long wait for everything. It took over an hour just to ride one ride, and we had to wait in line for a super long time just get pizza.
You should really go to Disney World. It is so much fun. You get to spend time with your family and friends. If you do have the chance to go I bet you will have an awesome time.
I give Disney World five paws (even though you have to wait to ride the rides!)

The Grand Canyon
For six million years a large mountain like canyon was formed for a long time. The massive mountain like canyon was named The Grand Canyon.
Later on the canyon became one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon is made up of weathering and erosion. The Grand Canyon is located in the state of Arizona. Six million years ago the Colorado River made its way deeper and deeper in the canyon.
Weathering played a big part in making The Grand Canyon. Weathering is when things like wind, water, and ice breaks down the rock and forms sediment.
The Colorado River made its way down the canyon and it also weathered the Grand Canyon for six million years. Erosion also played a big part in forming The Grand Canyon. The Canyon was eroded by the Colorado River. Erosion is when sediment is carried away. Erosion is made up of wind, water and ice.
Erosion has been eroding The Grand Canyon for six million years. The Canyon was declared a national park by the 26th president Theodore Roosevelt in 1908. There are many things to do at the Grand Canyon like the canoe ride and the donkey ride to the bottom of the canyon. The Grand Canyon is becoming wider and deeper every day because of weathering and erosion. The Grand Canyon gets wider when the Colorado River freezes and makes the river wider and the canyon wider.
